Baby Eastern Rosellas
A large gum tree came down in our front paddock last week. Unfortunately it had been used as home to a pair of Eastern Rosellas. They nested in a hollow in the tree. When the tree fell the hollow limb broke up, seven babies fell from it. I have been feeding them for a week now and they are doing really well. When they are independant, and able to fly I will release them, in the front paddock so they can live in the wild as they are intended too. One of the baby birds is very small and still doesnt have any pin feathers, The bigger babies are starting to get coloured feathers coming through. When I found them I was unsure as to what kind of parrot they were, as they had only a few pin feathers.
